Bute may not quite be set for the 35-degree temperatures forecast in some quarters for parts of the UK this week - but the island is still set to bask in the first properly warm spell of the summer.
The Met Office’s five-day forecast for Rothesay is predicting that temperatures in the area will reach a peak of 24 degrees Centigrade at around midday on Wednesday.
But those temperatures will fall away as cloud cover increases on Wednesday afternoon and evening, with a likely ‘high’ of 17 degrees on Thursday and 18 degrees on Friday.
The dry spell is, however, expected to continue until Saturday, when a diet of sunshine and showers is on the menu for the island.
