The man whose second album beat off competition from the likes of Calvin Harris and Emeli Sande to win the 2013 Scottish Album of the Year prize is live in Rothesay tonight (Saturday).
RM Hubbert, whose award-winning Thirteen Lost & Found was produced by Franz Ferdinand frontman Alex Kapranos, plays at Craigmore Bowling Club with Transclyde Music on March 12 - giving his first Bute audience a sneak preview of his new release, Telling The Trees, which is out on April 29.
Also on this Saturday’s bill is ‘Pistol’ Pete Wearn, renowned for his raucous interpretations of traditional blues tunes as well as for his slide guitar and harmonica playing and songwriting.
The last few tickets for Saturday night’s gig can be purchased via Musicker cafe in Rothesay’s High Street (01700 502287) and Macqueen’s butchers in Bishop Street (01700 502067). Doors open at 7.15pm and the gig starts at 7.45pm.
