Members of the Rotary Club of Rothesay raised more than £500 for good causes by undertaking a charity bag-pack at the Co-op in Rothesay.
The fundraiser on December 21 was undertaken jointly with Cancer Research UK Bute.
Ronnie Falconer from the Rotary Club of Rothesay, was delighted with the kindness of shoppers at the club’s bag-pack just before Christmas.
He said: “Many thanks to all shoppers who contributed so generously. Monies raised go into our club’s dedicated Charities Fund, which distributes to various charitable good causes across the community in Bute, and for the purchase of specific disaster relief equipment such as a Shelter Box.”
The club recently held its annual Christmas dinner at the Kingarth Hotel. Ronnie said: “On the evening previous to our charity bag-pack members and guests gathered for our annual Christmas dinner.
“The guest of honour was the Rev Sibyl Tchaikovsky (right of centre in photo) who gave a fascinating talk about her travels in the Holy Land.
“Also at the top table were the current president Jim Findlay with his wife Kim, and our vice-president Georgeanne Martin.
“Entertainment was provided on the night by Tony Spencer on keyboard.”
