THE chief executive of the jewel in Bute’s tourist crown says her organisation feels a duty to promote the whole of Bute, rather than just their own patch.
Connie Lovel, the chief executive of the Mount Stuart Trust, told The Buteman she wants visitors “to experience everything Bute has to offer”, rather than simply arriving off the ferry, taking a tour of Mount Stuart and heading straight back to the mainland.
“Our appropriate position is as part of the community,” she said.
“We’re not just about giving people an experience of Mount Stuart. I think we do have a responsibility to promote Bute as a whole, and all of us in the Mount Stuart team feel that.
“Mount Stuart offers a lot to Bute, but Bute also offers a lot to Mount Stuart.”
