Motor boat towed to safety in Rothesay Bay

A SMALL motor vessel with two people on board had to be towed to safety after it broke down in Rothesay Bay on Thursday afternoon.

Clyde Coastguard were alerted to the situation just after 2.30pm, and arranged for the stricken craft to be towed to a safe mooring by the vessel Key West.

Later in the day, shortly before 7pm, the coastguard service arranged for the local coastguard rescue team to man the Rothesay landing site for the evacuation of a patient from the Victoria Hospital to a facility on the mainland.
