A ROTHESAY man who pleaded guilty to behaving in a threatening and abusive manner towards police officers during a search was ordered to undertake a Community Payback Order with an unpaid work element.

Michael James Hassan (24), address given as 11F Glebe Terrace, had attended a house party at 2-2, 3 Russell Street, the home address of Naomi Lisa Jane Bennet Reekie Sneddon (20) on February 2.

Police responded to a call about a noisy house party at 1.15am and notified the occupants. Around 20 minutes later, the same officers were driving past the locus and became aware that noise levels were still excessive and attended at the property again. Hassan answered the door to officers and was detained for a search under the Misuse of Drugs Act, whereupon he became hostile and aggressive, telling officers to ‘F**k off’. After being handcuffed, Sneddon appeared at the door and began shouting and swearing at officers, saying, ‘Get the f**k off him you c***s’.

Both were arrested.
