Light Up Bute hosted their tribute to Mickey Mouse and friends in Guildford Square on Saturday, July 30.
As well as Mickey and Minnie, volunteers from Light Up Bute were dressed for the occasion, with characters in attendance ranging from Buzz Lightyear from Toy Story, to Anna and Elsa from Frozen.
The characters took part in a parade in the glorious July sunshine, accompanied by children who had also dressed up as their favourite movie cartoon characters, from Guildford Square through Montague St, and back via Victoria Street, where the fun and games continued.
Light Up Bute stalls, along with GH Codona’s and MacKenzie’s funfair, provided thrills and spills for everyone, along with music by Chrissy Kinloch and Emma Flanagan.
Grant Graham, chairman of Light Up Bute, paid tribute to the hard work and effort of his team of volunteers, and also Sew Happy for assisting with fabrication of the costumes, and also thanked the public.
Light Up Bute’s next major event will be their flagship, Rock The Prom, taking place on Saturday, October 29, on Rothesay Promenade.
