Making a very welcome return to Bute’s live music scene this weekend is songwriter and guitarist Ewan McLennan.
Ewan made his Bute debut 12 months ago to great local acclaim, and returns to the island with Transclyde Music to play at Craigmore Bowling Club in Rothesay this Saturday, February 20.
Transclyde’s Richard Snape says: “I would place this guy amongst the greats of modern folk singer/songwriters and guitarists.
“Steve Thornton, our sound engineer, rates him as the best act we have ever had on the island. That might be arguable but come along and judge for yourself.
“If you don’t agree then I will leave it to you to discuss the subject with Steve. I will not be responsible for the fallout!”
Tickets for Saturday’s gig - which also includes a support slot from Rothesay Academy pupil and recent Celtic Connections open stage performer Beth Swan - are £10 and available from Macqueen’s Butcher (01700 502067) and Musicker (01700 502287).
