Bute’s most popular beach is the venue for a day of pirate-themed family fun this holiday weekend - and by taking part, you can help the island’s environment at the same time!
Local charity Beachwatch Bute has put together a day of pirate-themed activities at Ettrick Bay this holiday Monday, May 4, to encourage families to enjoy a day out and to help the island’s shores free of marine litter.
There will be beach-cleaning, face-painting, a treasure hunt, a scavenger hunt, a raffle, games, races and sand-castle competitions - tides permitting! - and you can wear your pirate costume to add a fancy dress flavour to the fun.
The day’s events will run from 11am to 3pm, while Ettrick Bay Tearoom will be donating some of the profits made between 11am and 2pm to Beachwatch Bute. We’ll see you there!
