Voters on Bute will get the chance next month to put the five people hoping to become Argyll and Bute’s next MP on the spot - thanks to The Buteman.
We’ve organised a General Election hustings at the Pavilion in Rothesay and have issued invitations to all the declared candidates so far - Alan Reid (Liberal Democrat), Alastair Redman (Conservative), Brendan O’Hara (SNP), Caroline Santos (UKIP) and Mary Galbraith (Labour).
The event, to be independently chaired by Rothesay resident and retired senior police officer Dan Edgar, will take place on Sunday, April 19 at 2pm in the Pavilion’s main hall. There’s no need to submit questions in advance - just come along on the day. And admission is free!
The General Election takes place on Thursday, May 7, and the deadline for any other candidates to submit nomination papers - or for any of the existing candidates to withdraw - is Thursday, April 9 at 4pm. Click here to find out more about the key dates in the run-up to the vote.
