A special meeting of the Integrated Joint Board, which will discuss suspending the closure of Thomson Court day centre, will be held on November 2, 2016.
As we reported yesterday (October 17), the IJB has stopped the implementation of the redesign work in Dunoon’s Struan Lodge and Rothesay’s Thomson Court day centre, awaiting the outcome of this special meeting next month.
If the plans are suspended, the IJB will undertake a three-month engagement and involvement process with the local communities in Cowal and Bute, followed by a two-month period of formal staff consultation.
The outcome of this engagement exercise will then be considered by the IJB to inform its decision on the redesign of services within the Bute and Cowal Locality.
The meeting on November 2 - which is open for members of the public to attend - will be held at 10am in the Council Chamber at Kilmory, Lochgilphead.
