THE fate of a planning application for three two-storey detached houses on land formerly occupied by the Kyles Hydro Hotel in Port Bannatyne will be decided at a hearing in Rothesay next week.
Members of Argyll and Bute Council’s planning, protective services and licensing committee will consider the application at a hearing, open to the public, at Rothesay Pavilion at 1.45pm on Tuesday, March 13.
The council’s planning department has recommended that planning permission be granted, subject to the applicant, whose name is given as ‘Excel’, carrying out improvements on the nearby Gortans Road, the vehicle access route to the site, prior to work starting on the development.
The PPSL committee decided last month to hold a discretionary public hearing due to the submission of a petition with 75 local signatories objecting to the plan.
