Rothesay resident Michael Hassan pleaded guilty to a charge of behaving in a threatening or abusive manner when he appeared at the town’s sheriff court on Monday.

Hassan (32), whose address was given as Flat 2, 38 Bridge Street, admitted behaving in a manner likely to cause fear and alarm by repeatedly shouting and swearing at a property in the town’s Russell Street on May 10.

Fiscal depute John Penman said Hassan had gone to the house to have a drink with friends and became agitated when his partner arrived and started drinking a short time later.

Mr Penman said Hassan had spent three nights in custody after being arrested; with that background in mind, Hassan was admonished and dismissed by Sheriff Ruth Anderson.
