Court: Rothesay woman caught twice using mobile while driving

A Rothesay woman who was caught by police on two separate occasions using a miobile phone while driving had seven penalty points put on her licence at the town’s sheriff court on Monday.

Kelly Morrison (35), of 4D Glebe Terrace, was stopped by police in Argyle Street in the town on September 26, and again in Mountstuart Road on November 17.

She was given a fixed penalty ticket on the first occasion, but failed to pay it, and as a result the second incident was reported to the procurator fiscal.

Morrison’s agent, Jim Hannay, said his client was embarrassed about her court appearance and had no intention of repeating the offence.

Sheriff Ruth Anderson imposed a total fine of £140 and seven penalty points across the two charges.
