The number of job claimants in Argyll and Bute last month has dropped two per cent from a year ago,which is down 49 per cent from 2010.
There were 845 claimants in the county in July, 15 fewer than a year before. While the figures is down by 814 from eight years ago.
Meanwhile, Rothesay Jobcentre is working with Bute Island Foods to promote vacancies as part of their on-going recruitment.
Speaking about the local job market, jobcentre partnership manager Eileen Downie said: “Our work coaches are working with all jobseekers to ensure that they have the confidence and skills to move into employment and take up the fantastic opportunities that are on offer with both new and existing employers in the area.”
