A 50-strong audience was held spellbound by the award-winning duo of Josienne Clarke and Ben Walker on Saturday night in St Paul’s Church hall.
The intricate and flawless playing of Ben on guitar provided the perfect stage for Josie’s transcendent vocals. Every song was a pure gem which pulled at the heartstrings.
Not only is Josie a captivating singer, she is also a wry wit, and the audience was treated to a grammar lesson, Josienne-style, between the songs.
The evening was kicked off by ‘Country George Macdonald’, who provided a soothing aperitif for the main course from his vast catalogue of Americana and country songs.
A big thank you goes to Steve Thornton, soundman, for achieving crystal-clear acoustics.
