This year’s Bute Agricultural Society annual show will go ahead as planned next month - despite the impact of the inaugural ButeFest on part of the show grounds.
Members of the society met this week to decide how to proceed after spells of heavy rain during the festival weekend turned some parts of the show venue from a grassy field into a muddy bog.
BAS secretary Betty Taylor told The Buteman: “Everything will go ahead as normal.
“The only part of the show grounds that might be affected is the light horse ring, and depending on how well the ground recovers we might have to move that to the other side of the Lade.
“But that will depend how much rain there is beforehand, and there won’t be a decision made until at least the Saturday before the show.”
This year’s show takes place on Wednesday, August 12.
