Bute’s archaeology in focus at the Lit

Paul Duffy gave a retrospective view of the archaeological aspects of the work of the Discover Bute Landscape Partnership Scheme (DBLPS) at the latest meeting of North Bute Literary Society this week.

Paul was the project manager for archaeology for the four years of the scheme, from 2008-12, and with his good humour and enthusiasm did much to raise the profile of Bute in archaeological terms, and to encourage a growing interest within the local community.

He also spoke about his current work with the Rothesay Townscape Heritage Initiative, again with emphasis on combining professional archaeologists and historians with the local knowledge of volunteers.
