Local walking group the Bute Ramblers have revealed their walks for April to June.
The group will meet this Saturday, taking the 9.45am bus north from Guildford Square for a nine-mile walk from Port Bannatyne to Rhubodach. The following Saturday (May 5) they will walk five miles from Loch Fad to Port Bannatyne, leaving the Discovery Centre at 10am on foot.
On May 12, they will walk from Rhubodach to Port Bannatyne, after taking the 8.19am bus north from Guildford Square. Then on May 19, they will walk six miles from Kerrycroy to Kingarth via Bruchag Point. They will take the 9.45am bus south from Guildford Square.
Next up for the group, on May 26, they will take the 9am ferry to Wemyss Bay for a 12-mile walk as part of Muirshiel Walking Festival, heading along the Kelly Aqueduct, Leapmoor Woods, Blood Moss circular. On June 2 the group will head off from the Discovery Centre for a three mile walk taking the Skipper Wood - Golf Course - Roseland Park Café -circular. A week later on June 9, they will leave the island again, catching the 10am ferry to Wemyss Bay to complete the eight-mile Greenock Town Trail.
On June 16, the ramblers will take the number 19 bus north from Guildford Square, then walk four miles to Benmore Gardens from Clachaig. On June 23, they will take on the three-mile Medal Route challenge: walking Skipper Wood - Golf Course - Serpentine circular in one hour. Setting off from the Discovery Centre at 10am.
Finally, on June 30, they will take the 9.45am bus south from Guildford Square to walk the six-mile Kingarth - Suidhe Hill -West Island Way - Orchard cicular.
