Two Bute children’s organisations have been presented with donations from the annual Christmas appeal run by a local bus driver.
Apple Tree Nursery and the King Street Toddlers each received £175 from donations made by passengers to Paul Tritschler’s ‘Santa’s Bus’ fund-raiser.
Paul has carried on the tradition of his mow-retired West Coast Motors colleague Robert Wood by donning a Santa costume for every shift in the run-up to Christmas Eve and inviting his passengers to donate their change to help the island’s youngest children.
Children at Apple Tree decided to use their new funds to buy ‘superhero’ costumes, while the King Street group will use their donation to buy new toys and fund a day trip.
Both groups said a very big thank you to both Paul and his passengers for their generosity.
