Some of Bute’s most talented musicians will take to the stage in Rothesay next Tuesday, March 15, for the Bute Community Band’s second soloists’ concert.
The event, at the United Church of Bute’s church centre in High Street, will feature pieces played on cornet, flugelhorn, clarinet, flute, and more, composed by Grovlez, Debussy, Tchaikovsky, Stephen Sondheim, Scott Joplin and others.
All proceeds from the concert will go towards the funds of the band, which is planning another busy year of performances, including dates at the Isle of Bute Jazz Festival, the Loch Fyne Food Fair in Cairndow and at the local celebrations currently being planned for June to mark the Queen’s 90th birthday.
Entry to the concert is £5, and tickets are available from band members and at Brechin’s on Bridgend Street. Doors open at 7pm and the concert starts at 7.30pm - and there’ll be refreshments and a raffle, too!
