Bute Astronomical Society’s latest meeting takes place next Monday (April 9), 7.30pm, at St Paul’s Hall, Deanhood Place, Rothesay.

The group’s founder Dr John Dijkslag is looking forward to this latest free monthly meeting, open to all.

He said: “We will be opening the evening with the popular topic, ‘Skies over Bute’, discussing what celestial events are on offer over the coming month, presented by Robert Durrant.

“This is followed by Alan Rew discussing increasing the temperature within a star environment in the topic ‘Starlight’ or what makes stars shine.”

On the second Monday of every month the group presents astronomical news from around the world as well as its ‘Skies Over Bute’ presentations. The meetings also feature special presentations by guest speakers.

The society runs from September to June. For more go to https://buteastronomical.wordpress.com/
