Bute firm Henshelwoods Fine Foods has continued its record of success at the UK’s food Oscars - the Great Taste Awards.
The Rothesay-based company, which has won gold at the awards every year since the company was established, scooped two more gold prizes in the 2014 awards, for their raspberry jam and dill mustard cream sauce.
Of the former, the judges praised the colour, set and fruit content of the product, while the latter was described as having a “good appearance” with “lots and lots of dill” and a “nice sheen, colour and consistency”.
The Great Taste Awards, though, aren’t the only measure of the company’s success: in addition to seeing their marmalade and strawberry jam on breakfast tables in the athletes’ village at this summer’s Commonwealth Games in Glasgow, Bob and Lynn Henshelwood’s neep chutney is currently being served with haggis at the Ryder Cup at Gleneagles.
Said Bob: “We are so pleased to have maintained our record of winning Gold Great Taste Awards each and every year of our existence.”
