Bute’s top visitor attraction has been presented with an Award of Excellence based on the ratings of its own visitors.
The award was handed over to Bridget Roberts and Louisa Davidson from Mount Stuart at a ceremony at the annual VisitScotland expo in Aberdeen.
The accolade, announced last month, was given by CIE Tours International, which recognises the quality of the UK’s hotels and visitor attractions by awarding a merit award to those who have received a greater than 90 per cent customer satisfaction rating.
Thirty awards were presented to Scottish tourism businesses during Scotland’s biggest travel trade event.
Brian Stack, Managing Director of CIE Tours International commented: “Our Awards are well recognised and hugely respected in Ireland and it is gratifying to see that the same has happened so quickly in the UK. Our visitors from North America are accustomed to very high levels of service in hospitality and to achieve an above 90% rating from them is very meaningful.
Charlie Smith, VisitScotland’s Director of Marketing commented: “It’s an honour to be presenting 30 awards to Scottish tourism businesses here at VisitScotland expo 2015, Scotland’s biggest travel trade event. I would like to offer my congratulations to every single winner for receiving an Award of Excellence.
“Providing a high quality of service is vitally important as we look to encourage both leisure and business visitors to come back to our country again and again. Scotland is renowned for its hospitality, we showed this as we welcomed the world in 2014, and now it’s extremely important that we maintain this high level of service as we take Scotland to the world in 2015 and beyond.”
