A decision on the future of the former West Church in Rothesay will be made by local councillors next month.
However, as was the case when the subject was last discussed, members of Argyll and Bute Council’s Bute and Cowal area committee will consider the matter behind closed doors.
A special meeting of the committee will be held in Dunoon on Tuesday, September 1 - but the press and public will be excluded, as the council wants the prices it has been given - one for demolishing the building, the other for making it safe and mothballing it - to remain confidential.
The committee’s chair, Bute councillor Robert Macintyre, said: “I know what the costs are, but I can’t reveal them, and the meeting will be held behind closed doors.”
