The Co-operative Food has issued a recall notice for part of its frozen fish range because the item contains potential allergens which are not mentioned on the packaging.

The company has announced that a limited quantity of its ‘Loved By Us’ packs of four battered cod fillets have been packed in ‘breaded cod fillet’ packaging.

The battered fish contains milk and mustard, which are allergens, that are not declared as an ingredient.

The affected packs have a ‘best before end’ date of February 2016 and a batch code of W027107.

A notice on the Food Standards Agency’s website states: “If you have bought the above product and have an allergy or intolerance to mustard and/or milk and its constituents, do not eat it. Instead, phone the Co-operative’s Customer Careline on freephone 0800 0686 727 to arrange a full refund.”
