Rothesay firm Bute Island Foods has won one of the first Good Choice! Quality Food Awards for part of its dairy-free ‘cheese alternative’ range.
Debbie Dawson and Guy Crichton received the prize - award for its Tesco Rich Soya Smoked in the dairy-free category - from chef Phil Vickery in a ceremony at London’s Grosvenor House Hotel.
The duo said: “It is an honour to have won such a prestigious award. We are very pleased to be recognized within this fast growing, competitive category.”
The Good Choice! QFAs were set up to celebrate innovation and excellence in the market for gluten-free, dairy-free and meat-free products, which has seen rapid growth over the past few years.
Organiser Helen Lyons said: “The Good Choice! QFAs bring the best of the UK’s ‘free from’ food and drink producers and key industry influencers together, and it’s great to have been given the opportunity to truly congratulate those who are making a difference to many people’s everyday lives.”
