Kandinsky Piano Trio

Playing at Rothesay Joint Campus on Friday, January 18), is the Kandinsky Piano Trio.

Formed in 2002, the trio was soon selected to play in the Manchester Mid Day series at the Bridgewater Hall and Making Music Concert Promoters’ Network Schemes National and North West.

The Trio, comprised of Fenella Barton (violinist), Lora Dimitrova (pianist) and Alexei Sarkissov (cellist), have since broadcast on BBC Radio 3, as well as performing all over the UK at venues including Kings Place and Conway hall in the London Chamber Music Series.

Fenella has given duo recitals at the Purcell Room and Wigmore Hall with noted pianist Simone Dinnerstein, and her collaborators have included Martin Lovett of the Amaedus Quartet. Hermann Baumann and the Gaudier Ensemble.

Lora was born in Sofia, bulgaria, where she studied piano from the age of seven, until she left the country in 1988. Lora studied in the Bulgarian Music Conservatoire, where she was awarded the Premier Prix Performance Diploma and obtained her BA in Music.

Alexei started music lessons at the age of five in the Gnessin Special Music School, then studied at Russian Academy of Music with Professor Vladimir Tonkha and gave his first solo recital at the age of ten, performing his concerto debut one year later.

Admission is £7 (free entry for students) for the concert which begins at 7.30pm in the assembly hall of Rothesay Joint Campus.
