VIDEO: Alba Brass wows Rothesay audience

The latest concert in Bute Arts Society’s 2013/14 programme featured renowned brass ensemble Alba Brass at Rothesay Joint Campus on Friday evening - and what an evening it was.

The Scottish quintet, which comprises Bede Williams and Vicky Williams on Trumpet, Fergus Kerr on French Horn, Paul Stone on Trombone and Andy McKreel on Tuba, have been performing across the globe since their 2004 debut at the Aracena International Chmaber Music Competition in Spain, and have been enthralling audiences ever since with their own take on traditional brass music.

Opening the concert, the group began with some very familiar music from the Royal Fireworks, composed by Handel. The group’s talents were clear to see, with an admirable balance struck between the five powerful instruments, allowing those carrying the theme to sing out clearly in the school’s assembly hall.
