VIDEO: Rehearsals gather pace for Bute’s community panto

Rehearsals for this year’s Bute pantomime are well under way - and The Buteman got a glimpse behind the scenes this week as some of the younger members of the cast took to the stage for the first time.

This year’s panto, Sleeping Beauty, is a joint effort by Achievement Bute and the Bute Amateur Players, and on Friday Dorothy McDonald - manager of the former and secretary of the latter - took some of the pantomime’s fairies on to the stage at Rothesay Pavilion for the first time to run through their routines.

“We’re all very excited,” Dorothy said after the rehearsal. “We’ve got over 50 children taking part and about 20 adults.”

Sleeping Beauty will be performed at the Pavilion on December 20 and 21.
