VIDEO: Wealth of talent at #ROTHESAYLIVE

The launch of a ten-month project to help support, nurture and develop music for young people on Bute took place on Sunday, during Rothesay Pavilion’s Closing Weekend Festival.

The #ROTHESAYLIVE project, organised by Rothesay Pavilion Charity, held a live showcase of some of the finest young musicians on the island in the Pavilion Cafe, which was so well attended that despite adding extra chairs and tables to the venue, some audience members took up positions outside the room, peering in.

The setlist for the day included music from Daniel Sweet, Beth Swan, The Hideout, Layla Templeton, Anabrese Music, and The Vines, and was a superb reminder of the wealth of young talent the island has to offer in spades.

One of the aims of the project is to create more opportunities for young people to play and to perform their music in a variety of settings and there will be more live shows coming soon. More updates on the project as it progresses can be found at the Pavilion’s website, and on social media using the hashtag #ROTHESAYLIVE.
