VIDEO: ‘Fires of Love’ with Bute Arts Society

The ‘early music’ quartet Fires of Love provided the music at the third concert in Bute Arts Society’s 2014-15 winter season at Rothesay Joint Campus on Friday.

The group - Jonathan Hugh-Jones, Marcus Claridge, Gordon Ferries and Frances Cooper - performed music of Scottish and English origin from the time of the Union of the Crowns in 1603 by composers such as Philip Rosseter, John Dowland and Thomas Campion, as well as several anonymous musical settings of poems by Alexander Montgomerie and Shakespeare’s Hamlet and As You Like It.
