VIDEO: Day 1 of ButeFest

The first day of the inaugural ButeFest may have come to an early end because of high winds - but there was still no shortage of live music for festival-goers to enjoy before the weather closed in.

Friday’s line-up included Bloodlines, 21st State, Sinderins, We Banjo 3 and Federation of the Disco Pimp - the latter featuring former Rothesay Academy pupil Mike Berrich on guitar - on the main stage, while the CalMac Culture Second Stage bill included Glyn Jones, The Trongate Rum Riots, current Rotehsay Academy pupil Beth Swan, and Sonny and the Lost Soul Train.

As the wind gathered in strength through the evening, blowing over a number of marquees around the arena, the organisers decided to bring an early end to the festival’s first day on safety grounds, with day-one headliners Skerryvore among the bands unable to take to the stage.

By Saturday morning the wind had died down sufficiently to allow the schedule to resume at midday - we’ll have more ButeFest footage over the next couple of days.
