An evening of self-penned and traditional folk music formed the latest instalment in Transclyde Music’s series of live gigs in Rothesay when Alan Reid and Rob Van Sante took to the stage at Bute Shinty Club on Saturday.

The pair - boasting more than 50 years’ experience between them with Scottish folk legends The Battlefield Band - were supported by 15-year-old Rothesay Academy pupil Layla Templeton on a night which confirmed the future of live music on Bute is just as bright as the present.
