Putting on a school show is no easy feat. It’s even harder when you’ve only been working on it for two-and-a-half weeks, but that’s exactly what the pupils of St Andrew’s Primary School did on Wednesday with their musical,‘Frankie and Me’.
Written by Peter Fardell, the show tells the story of Mary Shelley and her attempts to find acceptance and friends at a new school. She discovers that you don’t have to be human to show humanity. When you need a friend, the only monster is prejudice!
The show came about after a school drama club was set up by Miss Morrison, giving pupils the chance to flex their acting muscles, which has been a great success.
The entire school played a part in the whole production, which was directed by Mrs Spencer, whether performing on stage or helping move scenes and props, and it was clear from the audience’s reaction that they thoroughly enjoyed the show.
