Skerryvore hold workshop for Achievement Bute youngsters

After a rocky start, delayed by the adverse weather on Saturday afternoon, award-winning ceilidh band Skerryvore took the children of Achievement Bute through their paces at a workshop in Rothesay Pavilion.

Finding that the ferries at Wemyss Bay had been suspended due to high winds, the band made their way to Colintraive to ensure they wouldn’t disappoint either the children of Achievement Bute or indeed the revellers attending their concert later that night.

On arrival, the band wasted no time in getting everyone in the party spirit by teaching the children some traditional ceilidh dances. With everyone - including the charity’s volunteers - out of breath, it was time for some individual lessons, where the kids were split into groups to learn rhythms and beats for their musical performance for friends and family.
