Rothesay and District’s grade four pipe band were placed second at the Ayr Highland Games on their first competitive outing of the year on Saturday.

The band’s drum major, Campbell Gillies, was placed second in the event’s adult drum major competition.

The grade four pipe band contest was won by Irvine and District, while the adult drum major winner was William Jordan of Dumbarton and District, a regular competitor at the Bute Highland Games, which take place this year on Saturday, August 24.
