A reminder to our readers that one of the most highly-acclaimed jazz groups to have appeared on Bute in recent years will make a return visit to the island this weekend.

Rose Room, featuring award-winning virtuoso violinist and vocalist Seonaid Aitken (Scottish Opera, Roddy Woomble), guitar maker to the stars Jimmy Moon on double bass, and Swing Guitars’ Tam Gallagher and Tom Watson on rhythm and lead guitars respectively, have performed all over Scotland since the release of their debut CD ‘Somewhere In Roseland’ in 2011, and have gone down a storm on their three appearances in Rothesay under the banner of the Isle of Bute Jazz Festival.

Rose Room play at the Victoria Hotel in Rothesay on Sunday, December 1 in the latest in the Isle of Bute Jazz Festival’s monthly series of winter ‘Jazz at the Vic’ concerts - but tickets are going fast, so don’t hang about! Priced £12, tickets are available from the Victoria Hotel (tel 01700 500016) and Brechin’s on Bridgend Street (tel 01700 502922).
