Emma Wilkins (flute) and Helen MacLeod (harp) - who perform together as Hoot - are in concert at Rothesay Joint Campus tonight (Friday, October 31, 2014) in the second of Bute Arts Society's winter concerts.

In the second concert from Bute Arts Society, harp and flute duo ‘Hoot’ will take to the stage at Rothesay Joint Campus tonight (Friday, October 31).

Helen MacLeod (harp) and Emma Wilkins (flute) are touring Argyll and Bute with a programme which includes a collaboration across the art forms of music, painting and film.

As part of that collaboration, commissioned to mark the 70th birthday of Cowal Music Club (like Bute Arts Society, also a member of the Argyll and Bute Concert Tours group), Hoot’s programme in Rothesay will include a performance of a new piece by leading Scottish composer Eddie McGuire called Cowal Colours, receiving its world premiere in a performance in Dunoon on Sunday, October 26.

Alongside the music there will be a display of artwork by Argyll-based artists Don McNeil and Jean Bell and footage of some of the area’s stunning scenery shot by film-maker Gordon Davidson.

Tickets are £7 for adults (free entry for students) and the concert begins at 7.30pm.
