Pupils at Rothesay Joint Campus gave up part of their Easter holidays to put in extra work on preparations for this year’s school show.

The Rothesay production of Disney’s Beauty and the Beast, under the direction of Rothesay Primary’s principal teacher Julie Henry and with musical accompaniment by Tony Spencer, will take to the campus stage in June - and judging by the chorus’s rehearsal version of the show’s opening number, ‘Belle’, when we visited this week, when the curtain goes up on the opening night the audience will be in for a real treat!

The musical version of Beauty and the Beast is largely based on Disney’s 1991 animated film of the same name, which was in turn adapted from the famous French fairy tale by Jeanne-Marie Leprince de Beaumont.
