Rothesay Academy students are gearing up to show their musical talents on-stage at the joint campus for ‘Rothesay Academy Live Lounge’.

Previously known as ‘Battle of the Bands’, acts will be battling it out for the chance to open the show at this year’s Tee in the Port music festival, and there is only one rule in place - no backing tracks, all musicians must provide their own musical accompaniment.

Previous years’ winners included ‘John Candy’ in 2012 (comprising Liam Galliard, Jack Power, Scott MacCallum and Cameron Gibb), ‘All Who Care’ in 2013 (a quintet comprising Zoe Clark, Eddie Caldwell, Daniel Sweet, Joshua McFadden and Robert Deans), and Daniel Sweet and Robert Deans in 2014 (pictured above).

Pupils of all ages - from S1 right through to S6 - will be taking part, with each act performing three songs of different styles, and all hoping to impress the judging panel.

The night kicks off at 7pm on Wednesday, June 10, in the hall of Rothesay Joint Campus - why not come along and show your support to the island’s talented young people? Entry is £3 for adults on the door (£2 for pupils), and all proceeds will go towards buying new instruments for the school’s music department.

We’ll see you there!
