The third annual Port Bannatyne Gala Day will be held on Sunday, June 7, from 12 - 4pm in the village’s public park, and is jam-packed with fun for all the family.

Vocalist and Rothesay Academy pupil, Beth Swan, will once again wow the crowds at the gala day with her singing, while Ayrshire-based Owl Magic will be bringing a selection of their magnificent birds of prey for a display which will be sure to entertain.

Food and refreshments will be available throughout the day, and there will be plenty of opportunities to snag a bargain at one of the many stalls lining the park.

For little ones there will be bouncy castles, face painting and other activities, and of course, it wouldn’t be a Port Bannatyne Gala Day without the traditional tug-of-war competition!

There is also a once in a lifetime prize up for grabs in the raffle - a cruise on a luxury yacht!

There are three trips for two on offer, with lucky winners enjoying a glass of bubbly and light lunch aboard the yacht while sailing through the stunning Kyles of Bute.

The trip will take around five or six hours, and if winners are interested they can also learn some basic sailing skills under the supervision of the fully qualified skipper.

Tickets will go on sale, priced at £5, from next week.

* A free bus will run from Guildford Square to Port Bannatyne throughout the day on Sunday. Full coverage next week!
