AMERICAN pianist Catherine Nardiello will give Rothesay Pavilion’s new piano a rare public outing when she gives a recital in the famous building on Wednesday, April 3.
Catherine - also known by her stage name of Carmen - was born in Middletown, Ohio and studied in Baltimore, Maryland, but came to Europe in 1986 and has since performed in Scotland, England, Ireland, Wales, France, Germany, Italy, Holland, Hungary, Switzerland, Finland and even the Faroe Islands.
She gives regular performances in schools, nurseries, theatres, castles, universities, museums and festivals, gives many lectures and masterclasses, and records regularly across Europe, as well as playing as a guest soloist with groups such as the Kolping Singers, the City of London Chamber Choir and Group Krambambulli of Switzerland.
Her specialities are American piano music, women composers and contemporary music, although the bill for next Wednesday’s concert describes “a music programme to suit all ages and tastes”.
