Members of the Oban and Lorne Strathspey and Reel Society brought the music of Scotland to life in Rothesay on Saturday at a concert in the town’s Trinity Church.

Under the baton of conductor Helen Jordan, the society’s programme on Saturday began with their signature tune, The Hills of Lorne, and the march The Road to Glenmore, and also featured jigs, airs, polkas, waltzes and hornpipes as well as the Strathspeys and reels from which they take their name.

Star performances from fiddler Maurice Duncan and from Bute singer Meg Young added to the mix and made for a highly enjoyable afternoon for the audience.
