Dancers took to the floor as Bute based jazz band Les Gitanes wowed an enthusiastic audience in the forward cabin of PS Waverley on a Sunday cruise to Arran.
The Gypsy quartet which plays in the style of the great Django Reinhardt and the fabulous Hot Club Quintet de Paris was giving Waverley customers a taste of one of the jazz styles which have become synonymous with the Isle of Bute Jazz Festival.
“There were people who came on board Waverley who had forgotten just how good this music sounds,” said Les Gitanes leader and Jazz Festival chairman, Tim Saul.
“The day was all about promoting the Isle of Bute Jazz Festival which takes place over the May Day Bank holiday. We hope some people who heard us will be encouraged to come to next year’s Festival.”
