A reminder for all music aficionados - Anna Coogan will be playing at St Paul’s Church Hall this evening, Wednesday, July 10, and it will be a gig not to miss.
A dyed-in-the-wool East Coaster (Boston, Vermont, and now New York) who lived in Seattle for twelve years and Salzburg, Austria for one, Anna has worked as an opera singer, a salmon biologist, a trash hauler, and a whitewater kayaking instructor among seemingly hundreds of other jobs.
From this strange mix of geography and occupations comes her own poignant take on Americana and Alt-country- the dark alleyways and rolling hills, the conquistadors haunting the ocean floor, the girls with red shoes, the lonely ex-pats, and the legions of breaking hearts.
* Doors open at 7pm with music starting at 7.30pm. Tickets are available from Musicker, Macqueen’s Butchers, Port Bannatyne Post Office and Bute Packpackers.
