The Kilbarchan Singers chamber choir visited Rothesay on Saturday for a charity concert at the United Church of Bute.

Under musical director James Slimings, the choir’s programme on Saturday spanned a wide-ranging repertiore, from Thomas Tallis to Duke Ellington via Robert Burns and George Gershwin, to name a few.

Formed in 1982, the group has performed in the past at venues as prestigious as Freiburg Minster, Notre Dame Cathedral in Paris and Brussels Cathedral.

Among the audience at the choir’s first ever performance on Bute was the United Church of Bute’s minister, the Rev Owain Jones, who was formerly minister at Kilbarchan East Church.
