The centrepiece of the Isle of Bute Jazz Festival - the annual brolly parade through the centre of Rothesay - brought the town’s streets to a halt on Saturday morning.

Parade marshal Jenny Brown led the way from Guildford Square to the Esplanade fountain with musicians, brolly-bearers and dancers following in her wake and an army of photographers swarming around the gathering.

The music for the parade was led by Richard White’s Fivers, one of more than a dozen groups on this year’s festival bill, with support from several of the musicians who are playing at venues around the island until Monday.
