A decision on whether the ButeFest music festival will return to the island’s events calendar in 2016 will be made next month.
The inaugural event, held in Rothesay from July 17-19, has attracted widespread praise, but its organisers have admitted that the event has not - yet - managed to break even.
Melanie Dalton, chair of the ButeFest organising committee, told The Buteman: “We didn’t anticipate turning a profit. We wanted to break even, and at this point we’re not too far off that.
“We’ll have an AGM in September, and that’s when we’ll decide whether to do it again in 2016.”
