Country-rocker Katy Moffatt will be the latest artist to add her name to Bute’s 2013 live music line-up when she plays in Rothesay later this month.

Katy, who grew up in Fort Worth, Texas, counts Tom Rush, Tracy Nelson, Leonard Cohen and Ella Fitzgerald among her early musical influences, and fronted blues and jugband groups while at college before landing in a burgeoning country-rock scene when she moved to California in 1979.

With support from Gerry Geoghegan, Katy - the sister of country singer-songwriter Hugh Moffatt - will be performing at St Paul’s Church Hall in Rothesay on Wednesday, August 28. For a full preview and ticket information, see this week’s issue of The Buteman, on sale from Thursday, August 22.
